Just as an FYI this is a 5 year old model. Don't let the big discount from the original price fool you, you can get a 945 for less than that.

Great price for a great watch. It's a Fenix in a plastic chassis instead of metal. Got mine for 400 3 years ago and it's holding up well. There is a 955 out now, so do keep in mind this is a couple generations older.

Did your Fenix 6X break or otherwise fail?

The Fenix 6X should beat this in just about every way except that it's heftier to haul on your wrist for runs vs the Forerunner.

255 all the way. 255 has multi-band GPS which is better than even some of the base model Fenix 7 models released earlier this year. It will also get firmware updates for years to come to fix bugs and possibly add features.

Personally, I'd be wary of buying a new 935. Who knows how long the battery has sat on a shelf and how that will impact the battery life in the long term. It's also missing some major features even budget watches have now like track running, which gives super accurate distance when doing laps around a track.

they are different watches. the 255 is 2 generations newer than the 935 but the 935 is a triathlon watch with support for biking and swimming including power meter and other accesories. If you are just running go with the 255. Not sure if the 255 supports custom interval training.

I had a 935 to track triathlon training for years. Definitely a fantastic device to track a lot of the training metrics. Like one of the users mentioned, it's almost like a Fenix, but with a plastic housing. However, I upgraded to a Fenix 7 that tracks more data along with a better looking every day watch to wear.

I love my Phoenix. But damn, I hate Garmin's proprietary charging dongle. Why can't they just use USB-C or something? The frustrations of getting my watch to charge makes me not want to use it. Are all Garmins the same?

Its not a fenix..no maps for a big thing...no music another...other ways too but if you dont need maps or internal music hella slickdeal

955 is closer to fenix for half price but still no fenix looks/durability wise. I got all these watches at one time or another using a 955 right now but watching for a fenix 7x sapphire deal...the king of sport watches IMO. Or enduo 2. which is same just more battery.

Have had a 935 for over 3yrs and it still works. Horrible sleep tracking though and sluggish user interface. This is an old watch. It also does not track heart rate while swimming. Just got a 955 a few months ago and love it. It does daily readiness quite well, and all tracking is accurate. GPS accuracy on the newer garmins is crazy accurate. 955 is $500 though for non solar.

Probably thinking second hand. On sale, New, 945 should come in at 350-400. I think it's worth the markup at this point.

Switched from this 935 to a fenix 6 pro for the music a year ago.

Although I like the extra features on my new watch, don't under-estimate how heavy the (regular 6 and 6x) fenix 6 line is vs. compared to the 935.

I much prefer a lighter watch during run workouts and I am tempted to upgrade to a 955 once the price comes down far enough.
