This is cheaper than the previous sale a couple of days ago where it was on sale for $7.85 (https://slickdeals.net/f/16043854-300-count-10mg-amazon-basic-care-all-day-allergy-antihistamine-tablets-7-83-w-s-s-free-shipping-w-prime-or-orders-over-25?src=SiteSearch)

I was always shocked how expensive generic Zyrtec was even at Walmart until I found buying Kirkland brand on Amazon was dirt cheap. Now it's brought the price of even the in-store Walmart down.

It's funny how that works, though, because a generic Prilosec (omeprazole) is about the same price everywhere and has been for years, whether at Walmart, Costco, or any deal at Amazon: about $14 for a 42-count pack.

Guess that's just the cost of that medicine.

If it is something you take regularly, a doc can write an rx for omeprazole and that could help, depending on insurance.

Yes, I get omeprazole that way but it still isn't that much cheaper except at higher doses (40mg capsules for instance).

But you're not wrong on most medicines

I take what used to be an Rx drug for seasonal eye allergies - Pataday. Before it went OTC, a single TINY bottle, that would be roughly enough for 1 drop a day per eye for a month, was about $150 WITH INSURANCE. The generic version, which was 2 drops a day but still Rx, was actually more expensive ($160) with insurance. I'd usually need about 2 bottles/year to get me through the spring.

3 years ago they released it OTC - brand name too. You can get a TWO PACK for around $20. Yes $20. Same exact stuff, but now 1/15 the price.

Always shop around though.

I transitioned our 2 Rx's to Costco this week after checking the online price and discovering it's about half of what I pay for generics through mail order through my insurance, which is generally the cheapest route, all things considered.

So I roll up to the Costco pharmacy expecting to pay the price I see online only to find that they only gave me 30 days supply (not the usual 90), and the price was actually higher (per pill) than what I have been paying. Fortunately the staff is nice and upon questioning they said that's the insurance price. So involving insurance makes the Rx more expensive. Never would have thought that, but now I'm saving around $100/yr on the Rx's.
