Like most of these apps that offer "free" financial transactions their CS stinks, minus paypal since they have big $$$ - I've asked previously and didn't go anywhere. I'm not worried about it as I rarely use zelle, and actually it does work for GV numbers when receiving money, I haven't been able to send money. That isn't a problem tho since I also use the other apps so I don't worry about it.

You're doing it wrong... why is the GV number the backup and not your primary number? Instead of creating tons of confusion, only call/message from the gv number, so that means only using the google voice app for SMS/MMS. Then you don't have to worry about the carrier number at all.

If you have iphone, then make sure not to link the sim number to your imessage account, and add your google voice so ppl can find you via a number.
