Otherwise though i was really impressed with the amd drivers. I had no crashes. I was messing with lowering the power limit of the card a lot (clearly) it wasn't always intuitive, but i got used to it (i lost my settings a couple of times) to be fully honest, but other than that I actually think i like the client application better than Nvidias, and i didn't feel like it was a bad experience. My issue was the cooler, and normally i'm a bit of an MSI fan at least as far as never having an issue and i own two other cards and a motherboard from them.
this one like i mentioned though a couple of places i think the cold plate is an issue. I had zero knowledge of that problem until i saw it. I was really surprised to see a problem like this so late in the cycle. You'd think they have worked that out. Before i returned it there isn't much you can do in terms of after market cooling either.
However other than that i think the experience was so good i'm probably going to try to pick up either a different brand of this one when the prices drop more, or wait for the new ones since it's november now, or used is looking better to me as the mining stuff is coming in finally. Though i still think people on ebay are asking way too much for a used card.
To the best of my knowledge 100c is fine for a Hotspot. 120 is the danger zone, I've only seen the Hotspot hit 100 a couple times and never when the fans are on like they should be.
I somewhat agree with this. for those that really want to hurt the companies raking everyone over the coals, go buy a used card off eBay. every used card purchased will hurt more than a new card sold at a lower price.
Yep. I bought a 1080ti for 200 to tie me up until things afe settled
I mean avoid the Gaming X Trio version. Primarily, for reasons outlined by Ryujitsu on page 2.

It's probably because of the minimum cost to manufacture it. Inflation hit hard in the last year or two. At this low in price level or market segment, it's better to just buy a used GPU like a 1080Ti or a 1070.

Nvidia has good support and fixes problems reliably and is never as bad as Amd was 12 years ago.... But Nvidia drivers have been a bit of a circus for awhile. Only the most rabid Nvidia zealots push the AMD drivers have trouble with everything narrative.
Last note, you never, ever ever ever swap from an Nvidia card to an AMD card without doing a complete scorched Earth fresh install. Nvidia always has and always will, Play dirty and you WILL have problems if you don't do a complete wipe and fresh install.

I never thought about this. What program do you use to wipe the nvidia drivers?
You should boot into safe mode if you use it just to be safe, though you can use it on your normal desktop too if you want.
