SD shilling again.

Just like 50% of current reviewers who've had previous fake reviews deleted:

This is super cheap insurance, its a pain in the @$$ to make a trip to the parts store for 1 fuse that will end up costing you $6 for a box of 4.

Seems like an appropriate thread for this…

2004 F-150 where the battery constantly dies. Replaced it, but new battery dies after a day or 2 of jump starting it. When it is jumped and running, the head unit doesn't work. So either that's draining the battery for some reason or alternator isn't charging battery?
Disconnect the battery while the truck
is running if it dies it's the alternator

Beware these offbrand, Chinese fuses. There's a GM technote about these things, because they won't necessarily blow at their rated amperage, which can damage wiring, or worse, cause a fire. Stick with Bussman, or an OEM supplier for something so critical.

Edit - if you want a great deal on OEM fuses, Rockauto has excellent prices. Just add them to an existing order, so shipping doesn't affect their price too much.

NEVER AGAIN CHEAP FUSES.

Not from this specific seller or amazon link but be seriously skeptical of these super cheap kits. I had a fuse blow and then refuse itself back together from a similarly cheap ebay fuse kit.

That is called a self-healing fuse. Highly sought after!

Ticonn is heavily pushed by Paid SD Staff Influencers.

YMMV on quality- they seem to slap their name on anything. You can see the range of products by their frequent posts on SD. usually pricing is competitive when promoting these "deals" but rarely amazing
if you even search Amazon for "Car Fuses Kit" you can see right at the top they've paid to be the sponsored brand with Amazon.

example competitor Winlynn listed above is basically the same at normal price

Not speaking to the quality of any of these kits, but something to note about the 272-piece kit is that it doesn't include any 7.5A fuses, whereas the Ticonn kits promoted here do. 7.5A is very common for automotive fuses, so the Ticonn kits may actually be the better deal.

30 years of driving and I've never blown a car fuse. Is this a common problem?

If you're going through this many fuses, you likely have a major electrical issue.

After a jump start does the new battery recharge and work for a few hours or days? If it is getting charged your alternator is probably ok.

Go to YouTube and search for parasitic draw test. That will help you chase down what is killing the battery. You'll need a multimeter, any cheap meter will work even a $5 from harbor freight.

Thanks for the tip I'll check that out. After I jumpstart, I'll drive like 10-15 min to a store. And then when I'm back to the truck I can start again no problem and get back home. Then without charging with trickle charger, usually the next day it'll start up again, but if it sits beyond 48 hrs it won't start.

I just find it interesting that the head unit doesn't work at all after I jump start and truck is running. It seems like that is the issue. I'm wondering if I should pull that radio 20A fuse and keep it out and see if I still have issues.

If you want to blow 30 minutes of your life learning about automotive fuses, this is a good video. Bottom line, you might not want to buy the cheapest fuses available.

do not buy cheap fuse.

fuse is designed to fail in order to protect your wires.

cheap fuse will only fail long pass it's listed specs.

cheap fuse will lead to melting bundle of wires, which leads to electrical short then fire.

only good fuse will fail at the right time, not before and not after.

only buy fuse from companies like:
Bussmann Fuse
