$300 ain't bad but I will wait for it to drop more lol
Just FYI, in the discussion someone mentioned they got one on the last deal and it was new, but when they registered it on their Microsoft account it showed that the warranty was already expired. The reply also had good info about faulty 2nd screen

"Because these things have what appears to be a pretty common problem with the main OLED screen overheating and flashing bright green, or turning green permanently, which leaves you with one screen instead of two. The warranty is probably expired because Microsoft doesn't want to replace them for free under warranty.

This is what happened to mine:"
It is a very strange device.
Too big/bulky to be a phone and not good to be a tablet because of the split screens.

Price/performance is great for sure.
2 year old device at this point with a decent update track record [microsoft.com], but it is currently on android 11 and it seems it will get Android 12L [windowscentral.com]. How about beyond?

To me it seems it is just a novelty device.

edit:
But on the other hand... Tablets at this spec would be priced at least $400+.

The surface duo 2 has 5g.
The surface duo is LTE (4G)

You can compare them here.

It's the form factor the duo 2 has a garbage form factor with a camera tumor on the back vs the flush design of the duo. It's a very good remote play device and emulator I assume that's what many are buying it for not so much as a primary phone although for the price it beats most of the entry level phones of equal price minus the camera probably.

It would be neat to emulate 3ds if the performance is there?

Microsoft has been an utter fail for tablets and phones. I've tried several over the years and been disappointed each time. Not sure why someone would buy this when a flagship android (eg samsung) or iPad are available at close to these prices.
