FYI this is the basic plan; no Howard for those who care.

FYI, there's some other BS fee attached that ends up making the total $120ish. That said we did this last go around, I don't regret it.

denied by chat and proceeded to cancel. whats the business angle for this? "people with older cars are poor and in order to keep them we need to lower the pricing"?
Older deactivated car, no additional cost to company, fish for extra revenue and sometimes grab a catch.

And not that you yourself necessarily believe what you posted, but anyone else thinking older car = poorer person may be advised to give The Millionaire Next Door a read, highly advised if you are a very young person and believe this.

**Keep in mind you locked in cheaper tax/royalties by doing the 5 years.
Nope, taxes and royalties are subject to change and will go up.

In all the times taking multi-month or multi-year deals on Sirius on a single up-front charge, I have never been later billed for some increase in these fees.

You couldn't be more wrong. Your price is fixed for 5 years if you pay up front.

As a followup, we have a 2020 and 2012 vehicles. Both radios have been transferred since 2010 (12 year customer for two services). I tried chatting with an agent to get this deal.

First offer, was $4.99 mo + fees for each radio. I think it was $71 total each. I said no and asked for a 3 year or preferably 5 year offer. I was placed on hold for the agent to discuss with his "team".

Second offer, was 3-year $99 for the 2012 vehicle. Original offer was the same on the 2020 vehicle saying the offer was good only on 2015 and older vehicles. I asked to elevate it and the agent said that was the team discussion and it would be the same offer. I said we wanted to cancel.

The final offer was 3-year $99 for the 2012 vehicle and $60 flat for the 2020 vehicle. I was tempted to take it but I didn't. I like having both vehicles on the same plan, expiring the same time.

The agent proceeded to cancel our service but it is good through early 2023. I was thinking about trying another chat session tonight but I think I'll call tomorrow instead.

for all worried about reoccurring charges just get a gift credit card for the exact amount needed and use that - if they try to charge you again they wont be able to

or some cc companies allow you to use a temporary virtual cc number .. problem solved - it cannot be charged twice

Will this work for someone who never had a subscription before? I do have a 2013 Hyundai Elantra that I would love to have a subscription for.

Are the fees somewhat new? Granted, it's been years, 7 or longer since I had this, but I remember the $30 and $60 deals, and that's pretty much what it was.

Update...I was able to call in and get the $99 deal for both vehicles. Took about 15 minutes including hold times.
What year are the vehicles? I've got a 2017 SUV and service expires later this month.

Yes, there's a big button under the account tab that lets you do just that. All you need is the promo plan to activate first and then you should be good to transfer it over to the other vehicle.

Thanks OP. My Subscription was still active but was able to get this deal thru chat. My previous deal had just ended last month and they charged me reg price of 21.84 for this months service. They gave me a credit and applied it towards the new plan. I just paid $102.72 for the 3 year plan.

Dealer app.
Quote from Junk_Drawer :
So for anyone wanting Sirius for free...

There is a "hack" if you download the Sirius app for dealerships. Any time you are parked within close proximity of a dealership you can use the app to activate a car.

The idea behind it is for dealerships to add a month or three of demo Sirius radio for new buyers. Well they can't track when you sold your car, so if your car ends up at a dealership and you use this app then Sirius will activate a free trial. I work near a dealership so I just renew via the app when I'm bored and eating Mcdonalds in the parking lot. Whenever it expires I just roll into a dealership and activate it again.
Quote from iNICK20 :
Wait Wait...... Are you fking serious? I got like 3 (new) dealerships near me! So I just use the app, when I'm in their parking lot? I'm assuming used car dealerships not included or else I got like 3 literally next to me.
Quote from Junk_Drawer :
Yup, you have to be about 100 feet within the dealership range or so but hey free Sirius. Works every time
Quote from Jimi542 :
Which version of the app are you using?
There's an even easier method that requires no specific location if you search the internets a bit.
