There is also qled tech which is very bright
Samsung reducing peak brightness on this set doesn't affect much because it was for hdr peaks. The normal viewing didn't take a hit.
For color accuracy, updating is the smartest thing to do. Anyone hanging out on previous firmwares is doing themselves a disservice.
If you're putting in this in an overly bright room the qled is the way to go. If you're able to control room brightness, this qd-oled is the best you can do
Isn't the Samsung brighter than both of those?
Bro I turned the brightness down because when playing at max brightness with 100% best contrast while playing Splatoon 3 the colors just fark with your eyes because it's so vivid. I'm used to a QLED (q90t - go google it) at max brightness but something about the contrast not being washed out with super bright colors were messing with me. I'm not sure if you saw the colors that Splatoon 3 uses but yeah eventually your eyes will get sick of the bright pinks and bright greens. I just couldn't do it anymore. I had it set to max for like two weeks after buying the tv, and just had to bring it down. I didn't bring it down to baby the TV at all. Do not think that.
I ran it with the OLD software and the NEW software and in normal viewing, I can't really tell a difference. Besides, when you CALIBRATE the TV correctly (something you should do) you're not running it flare bright anyway... so it's all mental gymnastics.
I enjoyed OLED for 8 years and this is some next level [expletive].

Where on PerksAtWork do you see it? I can't find it anywhere
Buy a newish receiver that supports HDMI 2.1. Problem solved and you can start adding speakers for a much better experience. Costco has some deals and there's always BF.
Sanding did the manufacturing/supplying aspect of panels and has been for ages. If your comment was true Sony would not exist in this market, especially with today's standards.
It's fair to say that many will not care for much of the differences in the two TVs or brands when you're looking at spending so much more to have the Sony TV. It's definitely not worth the price difference to many people out there
