What do people use them for? I used to use them to descale bottles and electric kettles, doesn't seem too effective though.

I use mine to clean my coffee cups/mugs and drink thermos mainly. Saves some scrubbing and bleach.

I generally will buy the Target/Walmart generic brand version to clean my Invisaligns. At this price, Polident is comparable. Question is, are they much better than the generic stuff?
