About this Game:
Set off on a journey to find the mystical Mana Tree seen in a dream, before discovering... the world map is empty! During your travels, you'll acquire special artifacts; place these wherever you'd like on the map to bring towns and dungeons to life and advance the story.
Meet a colorful cast of characters, square off against fearsome monsters, and complete quests in the vast world of Fa'Diel. Not only has the music been rearranged for this remaster, you can also alternate between the new and original soundtrack. Other features have also been added, including the ability to turn off enemy encounters, and the never-before released mini-game "Ring Ring Land".
After getting Octopath Traveler I've been trying to find other good JPRGs. I don't know if anything will come close to the og Golden Suns or a few others but I'm glad to see a renewed interest. I liked Octopath one enough I might even pay full price for 2. 😂
I've heard good things about "Live a Live" which seems similar to "Octopath Traveler"

Are you new to JRPGs with that game? If so, Chrono Trigger all day.
Thanks for the heads up, OP! I played Secret of Mana on the SNES back in the day and remember quite enjoying it. This looks absolutely gorgeous - I love the art style!

No more of a rediscovered interest. Played most RPGs since Might and Magic 1, Bards Tale, Ultima but these are just a lot more convenient and very fun. Thanks for the tips on this and live a live! Repd
Legend of Mana is basically what you get when you let the Event Planners design the entire game. Reviewers at the time it was originally released called it "A game with all mini-quests and no main quest", and that's not far from the truth. It's clear that all of the effort went into designing the world full of whimsical NPCs and side-quests built around said NPCs, but most of the sidequests stand completely alone and do not further the main story in any way.
If you go in expecting a Dragon Quest or a Final Fantasy, you will be very disappointed.

Final Fantasy 6 (IMHO best FF and best villan) or Chrono Trigger (Best JRPG perhaps). Shout out to the first Tales of Phantasia as my 3rd favorite one (Excellent story), out of the Super Nintendo's JRPGs. Sadly not on the Switch yet.
Mana was fairly derivative compared to its contemporaries.

After playing for a few hours I remember crying because the game was so bad and I wasted all my gaming money
Beautiful art and music. Absolutely horrible story and game play.

Chrono Trigger was definitely best of its breed. Nothing like it.
