Bose is one of those companies where I just assumed quality would go down after they started getting bigger as a brand. But it seems like they've kept up quality pretty well. Probably not the go-to for audiophile snobs but they sound amazing to me and are super reliable.
A couple years into having my 700 soundbar it wouldn't update correctly, the light just flashed and the unit wouldn't play any sound. Bose said they would have to charge me $100 to fix it.
I agreed with you until the last line. You would take the free klipsch over $10K bose... since you're a family man.

I had playback trouble with my 700 also. Intermittent issues, no sound through hdmi. It progressively got better. I have since upgraded my TV and having eARC vs regular seemed to have solved a lot of the issues. They do have updates pretty frequently though. My 700 Bass Module went out just after a year, $100, and they fixed it. I still love the whole setup though.
I hope those types of issues are fixed on the 900.
If convenience and aesthetics is a critical preference, that's what a soundbar is designed for.
If you are looking to get true surround quality, that's the one thing you give up with a soundbar.
Does it simulate it good enough for some, most definitely as you can see just in here.
One thing I would say is an Atmos soundbar is really just a big selling point, it comes nowhere near giving you a true immersion sound.
It is not comparable. The klipsch will sound far better.
People are constantly argueing over soundbars and traditional setups.
Here's the big magic secret that nobody tells you.
The only people who don't understand sound bars are single guys. I wouldn't understand either.
As a family man, that klipsch system is the last thing on earth I'd put in my living room. 10 years ago, as a single man, I'd think sound bar buyers are just for dumb consumers that don't understand how to build a real system.
Just to quantify how much more I'd rather have the bose in my living room. If I only had two choices, and I had to choose one, $10k for the bose, or the klipsch for free, I'd choose the bose..

You are comparing apples and oranges.

Hmm... sonos just ignores Android users... maybe they are just hoping for Apple to acquire them...
