HVAC people will tell you that you do not want heavy duty filters. It puts excess strain on the furnace. These are a great middle ground. Been very happy with mine.

If you dont want to stress the unit then go to 4 inch ones. These 1 inches doesn't have enough surface like the ticker ones im using 4 inch ones and air flows much easier then any 1 inch ones and mines are merv 11 or higher. Tickers are much more expensive tho but it kinda makes it when you get 2x-3x more life

For those interested, Costco also has filters of various sizes on sale, four-packs for $24. They are MPR 2200 which I believe is about the equivalent of MERV 13. They are cheaper than anything I could find on ebay or amazon. I stocked up on 20x20s to use for my fan filters.

Merv rating does NOT equal restricted air flow. Air flow has to do more with the amount of filter material and how many pleets. Check Project Farms on YT did a recent video comparing filters, and if you have never heard of ProjectFarm, you. Are. Welcome.
