    Anyone have expereience on the Crossamphibian Swift 2 Water Shoes? I'm wondering if they'd be good for a Disney World trip. I usually keep flip flops in a backpack to change into if there are downpours. I'm thinking maybe just wearing these may save from having to carry flip flops everywhere.

    Concerned about blisters, however.

    How are these, or hiking boots in general, with ice and snow? I'd like to have something versatile for shoveling, playing with toddler, etc

    I wore the Crossamphibian Swift 2 almost exclusively on a trip to Kauai. I brought these and flip flops. I only wore the flip flops to the beach and I used these shoes for all our hikes. I think in the 7 days there, I put roughly 8 miles per day on these shoes. No blisters, no sore feet. I was very surprised and pleased. I still wear them around frequently. I will say that on my left foot, my pinky toe gets pinched pretty often which is annoying, but that is likely due to my weirdly small pinky toe and not a deficiency of the shoe. I've never had any issue with my right pinky toe haha. And all I have to do is shift my foot forward a tiny bit and no more pinch.

    Yeah, most Salomons get high reviews; I was surprised to see so many bad ones for this shoe.

    You would want something with a sole like Vibram Artic Grip or a competitor product. They typically have lugs but are also made of a compound that sticks to ice.

    You generally want winter boots not hiking boots. I love my Lowa insulated winter boots and they have a few good ones.

    Alternatively, you can get something like Yaktrax or crampons [nymag.com]. There's usually a tradeoff where the ones you can wear inside don't last as long but the best ones might damage flooring if you wore them inside.
