we have both a Lowes and Home depot like 2 minutes from my house, love these events. And it's fun just to have more reasons to use the halloween costumes before the holiday is over.

Nice find.
these have always been fun
They get a little candy and take a picture? I am a Lowes DIY kids die-hard but I wonder if this is worth the gas $ to go? Have you been there in the past? It's my first time.

I think it depends on your store.
one year they gave out pumpkins and then last year mine had so much candy she kept giving me extra.
im going to guess it's a small bag of some candy. If the lowes is too far away it might not be worth it.

We did this last year and our store had no idea about it.
I didn't do this last year but can confirm on the building events for kids that my store doesn't even seem to know about it when the kids start showing up. Last time I went they just gave us the kit at the customer service desk - nothing was set up.

Last year, in Palmyra, PA, they let you grab a few pieces at each of the candy stations we visited. My kid liked the practice run and being able to get dressed up "officially" for another day.
last year they gave me 4x extra candy and offered 75% off any additional candy which was a good deal at the time, any store can do this if you ask nicely

Ours was lame. Go for 2 pieces of candy. Wasn't worth the effort for a single dad with a 1 & 4
Yeah, we had the same experience. We got there and they weren't even ready so we had to wait around awkwardly for 20 minutes while Darth Vader got his costume on. Then they finally came out and our kids each got two pieces of candy. I recall vividly the kids saying, "wait, that's it?!"
