- NJ: When I did an in-store pickup of an online-order, tax was automatically calculated on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal). But when I did an in-store purchasing today, tax was calculated on (price - TIV_promo). According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

On the google store - getting a $480 trade in For the Pixel 6 Pro
"When we receive your trade-in item, we'll confirm that it matches the information you provided in the estimate, then we'll refund your payment method the final trade-in value, including any associated tax."
My pixel 6 is evaluated for $480. New pixel 7 is $600 plus $40 tax
So I'm paying $640-$480. About $160 out of pocket.
Now according to terms above, will I get the tax refunded for $480 as sell?
Yeah, +1. I'm still seeing it in cart from previously added Pixel 7, but not if I add it now.

I did pay another $51 in tax but the majority of that gets refunded when the trade in goes through. I also get 5% from cashback for checking out with PayPal using chase freedom card.
