According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

Strange thing is, the deal is saying BB is offering $470 but at checkout I'm actually seeing $480 being offered so $10 more for my pixel 6. I checked a few other older phones I have on the list and They are offering me $395 for my iPhone 11 with a cracked screen (phone is still 100% functional from what I just tested now just screen is cracked). That seems like A LOT for such an old phone that also has a cracked screen. Seems like a really good way to get rid of this cracked screen old iPhone 11. I just put my preorder in so hopefully it works when I get to the store.
The cheapest I've been able to find from a repair shop is about $100 to repair this iPhone 11 but that was months ago. I doubt it's changed much so, before taxes I'm paying $204 for a $100 gift card and a Pixel 7 and they are going to take this cracked screen iPhone 11 off my hands. Don't even have to go through the trouble of repairing it myself.
Since I was actually able to checkout, then this should work. Fingers crossed...
Should you decide to leave Verizon you'd be on the hook for the remaining credits.
Look at it this way. They give $700 for your trade but you get it each month. If you leave before 36 months you lose the remaining credits for the months left.
Step 1) Trade in the S20 FE 5G for a S22 w/ T-Mobile new account or new line activation
S20 FE 5G has a trade in value of $600 and S22 costs $550 w/ T-Mobile activation, so you will get back a $50 BB giftcard which can be used to pay for the tax
Step 2) Trade in the S22/S22+ for the Pixel 7
S22 has a Trade in value of $465
ex: iphone 12 pro max give $790 (490 + 300 additional). my question is will the refund be $790 or $490
