- NJ: When I did an in-store pickup of an online-order, tax was automatically calculated on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal). But when I did an in-store purchasing today, tax was calculated on (price - TIV_promo). According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

I saw the higher trade in value but don't like the Galaxy flip phones. The Galaxy S series is good IMO. Besides the higher value of trade in is covered by the inflated cost of the phone itself.
According to the Disclosure of the trade-in values it says "*Offer valid until 10/23/22 at 11:59 p.m. PT."
I pre-ordered a phone for my wife already, MY HOPE IS that I can use the $100 GC + get Pixel 6 $470 trade-in (before 10/23/22) to get a second Pixel 7 for myself.
Anybody have any insight?
