According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

Other than the screen size, the 7 Pro doesn't seem that big of an upgrade. You are right in that one hardly ever uses the extra zoom ever. And the higher RAM and bigger battery aren't upgrades because you hardly ever run out of RAM unless doing something really heavy and also the bigger battery will be compensated by the bigger screen.
I also noticed that the difference is actually $300. Definitely doesn't seem much worth now. the Pro trade in values a year from now maybe $100 more than the 7. And in this 1 year one may never use the zoom camera at all.

Do you have to do setup and data transfer in store when you pickup the new phone? This can take up to an hour...or can you take the new phone home and drop off the old phone at a later day?

(sorry if this has been answered). Prior to getting a new device, I always backup my settings. Delete Unused apps, move photos, video's etc. Swap the Sim Card, add my Google account settings. AAllwo update of cellular. Sit back and watch the phone do it's thing!
I decided to trade in both and get 2 p7.. I can sell one unlocked sealed phone for more than tw refurbished phone I got for 130...
Main priorities would be better trade-in values down the road.
