Trade-in value notes:
- In states CA (please add more), tax is charged on (price - TIV_promo).
- In states NJ, NY, tax is charged on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal).
- NJ: When I did an in-store pickup of an online-order, tax was automatically calculated on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal). But when I did an in-store purchasing today, tax was calculated on (price - TIV_promo). According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

UPDATE: just checked BB website and the P6P trade-in dropped to $500...shoot!
Pixel 7 Pro 256GB would cost me $560.16 out the door with Google. Granted they don't try and screw you over with the trade in value by saying something is wrong with your phone.
Pixel 7 Pro 256GB would cost me $815.16 out the door with BB. The do include $200 GC. The only thing with this option is, BB knows they'll get the money back, so you end up spending more in the long run.
Use your savings to pick up a used Pixel (prior to Pixel 5) to allow unlimited google cloud photo backup.
I own the original Pixel 1.
All that I need to do is transfer all my photos and videos quarterly/monthly from the DCIM/ camera folder on my P6P folder to my original Pixel 1 DCIM/Camera folder using the usb-c cable on my laptop as the middle man.
Once all the photos and videos have been backed up into the Google cloud storage on Pixel 1....clear and release the storage on the Pixel 1.
No need to pay for the Google One subscription which can cost hundred of dollars over time .

I ended up buying the iPhone XR from Tracfone for $99.

Only Pixel 1 has the special unlimited original quality photo and video Google cloud storage.
That is the reason I will hang on tight to both my Pixel 1 and Pixel 2(as a backup) forever.
Pixel 1 - free unlimited Google Photos at original quality
Pixel 2-5 - free unlimited Google Photos at compressed quality
Pixel 6-7+ = no more unlimited Google Photos of any kind, any uploads count against your Google Drive space
To be honest, for my purpose, I don't see much difference between original quality and compressed quality backup on the Google cloud photo backup.
Google cloud photo backup offers a lot of conveniences. It allows me to search and access my photos and videos through my phone, tablet, or laptop internet browser at any time and from anywhere in the world. It also allows easy sharing of cloud photos with families and friends.
Despite the convenience, I would recommend that you still have your own backup on your hard drive.
If you don't use Google photo cloud backup, no issue.
If you use Google photo cloud backup ...it will potentially cost us hundred of dollars over time (depending on the amount of storage u use on Google photo cloud storage)
I am suspecting that's the reason why Google is offering such good deals on their new phones and offering higher trade-in value to recall back their older phones.
They will get us to pay up for their services over time (if we use the Google photo cloud storage).
So decide wisely before you trade in your old Pixel phones (Pixel 1-5).
Cheers.
