According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

I have 2 P6s and 1 P3 to trade in.
Can I stagger them and trade in store to get the gift card now and use for the next transaction? I can trade in phones now (don't need them).
1) P7 trade in P6 (599 - 480) + 240 GC
2) P7P trade in P6 (899 - 480 - 240 from GC from 1) + 240 GC

2nd; after you complete your first transition, the gift card will be emailed to you, not sure if it would be instant or in couple days.
Btw; Pixel 7 Pre-order would only net you $100 BB GC. Since the P3 TIV is $240 at Google vs $15 at BB. I would probably do all my trade with Google instead. Buy the monthly Google one plan (annual) which would net you 10% credit each purchase.
