Trade-in value notes:
- In states CA (please add more), tax is charged on (price - TIV_promo).
- In states NJ, NY, tax is charged on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal).
- NJ: When I did an in-store pickup of an online-order, tax was automatically calculated on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal). But when I did an in-store purchasing today, tax was calculated on (price - TIV_promo). According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

"you can. I've just done it in store. Two pro 7. Had about 750 existing card. in Store...got the trade applied as 250 coupon..(of the original price...reduced taxes by$20)....remaining value applied as payment. And also used my existing gift Card. Was handed a $200 gc for the first transaction. And used for the second in addition to existing gc. Walked out with 105 payment on CC and a new $200 gift card from the second transaction."
1) transfer all my data and sim to one of my old pixel phone at home first
2) reset my trade in phone at home
3) and then only go to BB to pickup the new phone and trade in the phone.
Thanks.

I have 2 P6s and 1 P3 to trade in.
Can I stagger them and trade in store to get the gift card now and use for the next transaction? I can trade in phones now (don't need them).
1) P7 trade in P6 (599 - 480) + 240 GC
2) P7P trade in P6 (899 - 480 - 240 from GC from 1) + 240 GC
3) P7 trade in P3 etc. Etc.
edit: sorry I misread about the GC. it's only 200 for P7P and 100 for P7
Use that gift card to pay for the first phone. They hand you a pre-order gift card for the first phone purchase. You can use it to pay for the second but again you will end up with a $200 or $100 gift card at the end. But at least you will will have staggered all the phones and also use some of the gift card. In addition the way the do it in store in my case reduced the taxes by 20 of pixel 7 pro. They give regular trade in value on gift card (which they use for the transaction), then scan a 250 coupon for promotion trade in value which offset the original price. The pre-order gift card offer is handed to you and can't be used in the same transaction but can be used for a second transaction. You can also do regular trade in of tablet or other devices and use those gift cards in the store. You CAN'T use gift card online. At the end you will walk out with final gift card for pre-order ($100 or $200, depending on your last phone you purchase...the p7 or P7pro)

Would be nice to have a few days to 1) transfer all the info and 2) ensure I like the Pixel 7 before giving up my old phone (Pixel 4a).
Thanks!
