- The $100 gift card is now included with the Pixel 7 in Snow, as of October 11.

Trade-in value notes:
- In states CA (please add more), tax is charged on (price - TIV_promo).
- In states NJ, NY, tax is charged on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal).
- NJ: When I did an in-store pickup of an online-order, tax was automatically calculated on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal). But when I did an in-store purchasing today, tax was calculated on (price - TIV_promo). According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

After your trade-in is complete, we'll refund your payment method in the amount of your trade-in value, including any associated tax.
If that is true, I don't see any advantage in taxes trade-in via store vs mailing in. Please correct me if I got it wrong.

Online it says "Gift cards, discount codes, and store credit card can't be used to buy a gift card"

1. Traded in the S21 Ultra for $900 (split into $500 coupon and $400 GC) towards a S22 unlocked. Price of S22 was $549 at the time (activate now). I had to open a new line on ATT (more on that below) to get that price but in total, I traded the S21 Ultra for a S22 and had ~$346 left in GC after paying the difference with the GC.
2. Traded in the S22 for a Pixel 7 for $540 (split into $290 coupon and $250 GC). Used the coupon and the $250 GC plus ~$87 of GC (from the ~$346 GC balance earlier) to pay off this transaction.
3. Cancelled the newly opened ATT line. Per the ATT rep, if you cancel within 3 days (which I did) of it being opened, you'll get the activation fee refunded.
So all in, you can trade in a S21 Ultra for a Pixel 7 + ~$359 BB GC - prorated amount of ATT service.
