- NJ: When I did an in-store pickup of an online-order, tax was automatically calculated on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal). But when I did an in-store purchasing today, tax was calculated on (price - TIV_promo). According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

Also, which apps do you recommend using to transfer your text messages from one phone to another? I don't believe Google has a 1st party app that does it.

Isn't there a Android feature where u can just run a backup to Google Drive? It should restore all messages on the phone. For the other stuff (pictures, etc), I'd copy that over to a PC and then copy it back. If software solution is your preferred route, i found that ATT Mobile Transfer was solid but again you would need a PC as an intermediate device if you don't have access to both phones simultaneously.
For the line transfer w/ Tmob, isnt that just a SIM swap situation? Not sure what I'm missing.

Both get refunded, but you should also be refunded for tax on the $250. So refund should be 230+250+tax_on_250
