Okay, I figured out how to find out which trade-in box corresponds to which order.

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".

You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

Can you trade-in your phone BEFORE you pick up your pixel? I know you can't take the pixel without giving up your trade-in at the same time but I think I've seen people successfully trading in early and picking the phone up later. Any success on that?

Order from the store and the trade-in happens at the time of order (go to the mobile desk). Then the order gets either shipped to the store or your address. BTW, you can also use BB giftcards to pay when you order from the store AND you get the bonus $100 or $200 BB gc at the store.

I pick up 3 last night

It looks like taxes are refunded too for cali. Heres an example

$977.66 for pixel 7 pro
Got 670 for the s22 plus.

On best buy order status shows now $285.79. My credit card still shows the full charge and hasnt updated yet

I agree with your sentiment but I wouldn't say they're overworked. There were two phone reps at my store, both sitting down. One was a kid wearing earbuds playing on his phone who could barely be bothered to look up and answer a question. Then he went right back to his phone.
