I traded in a iPhone xr and iphone 11. Both my values are still the same.
I know for a fact the iphone 11 value went from like 425 to 500.

It's also an official store policy for trade-ins (not just in California). They've had it for several years.

Well that policy doesn't seem to be in every state as they didn't fingerprint me in NJ, but they did scan my driver's license a bunch of times and put the number in their system.

Could someone please compare the screen for P6 and P7 (non pro)?
The problems I had with P6 are its inferior screen and the terrible terrible FP reader. Has Google improved both of these with the P7? Thanks in advance.

I picked my Pixel 7 yesterday evening. Did data transfer in the store and then erased my trade-in pixel 6. Gift card email came immediately. Waiting on refund to credit card, may be Monday. Biggest issue I'm having is with fingerprint sensor on pixel 7. My fingerprints are not recognized 99% of the times. I removed and added them 3 times so far but no luck. I googled and saw 1 article on Reddit regarding the same. Anyone having this issue or any tips? I will contact customer service and will ask for another phone if it doesn't work.
Did you put a screen protector on? My Pixel 6 Pro was almost flawless my Pixel 7 pro is flawless and slightly quicker.

That is strange maybe you got one with a bad sensor. Are you holding it on the sensor for say half a second or so. Not just tap and lift finger. Did you follow the prompts to use a different part of your finger during set up etc.

I had a pixel 6. So I'm very sure I'm doing it right as the pixel 6 sensor was very slow.

Well, that stinks sorry to hear that. Last thought did you do the release day update? No idea if that would make any difference. Mine worked right away flawlessly.

I have used both 6 and 7 pro models. The FP reader on 6 sucked. The fingerprint sensor on 7 is better but not by a lot. It's still slow compared to Samsung or one plus. Also I don't know Google use these cheap ass fingerprint tech. There is a bright light when you touch the finger print sensor and it can be very annoying if you are in a dark room. The 7 does feel more refined though. Speakers, display and haptics are great. Overall for the price it's a good phone but I will not trade my iPhone or s22 ultra for it. Pound for pound s22 ultra is a better phone.

Which all cases provide best protection for the curved edge in 7 Pro? I got Spigen liquid air, but the side edges of the case are lower than top and bottom and provide no protection to the screen.

Daily driver is a S21 FE 5G. The Pixel 7 is comparable and here are my thoughts:
-- P7 screen is slightly brighter than P6, but not quite as bright as the S21 FE. Can see P7 rainbow effect that others mention
-- S21 FE does seem to handle weak signals better than the P7 modem
-- P7 speakers are harsh and tinny compared to S21
-- P7 does run hot -- not much change from the P6
-- S21 FE is lighter and feels more balanced. Maybe due to camera bar on P7
-- Photo quality very similar with both -- S21 FE colors maybe a bit more boosted, but otherwise a draw
-- S21 FE Snapdragon 888 seems to handle fast-paced games better than this new Tensor.

Don't enjoy the Pixel launcher as much as Samsung's OneUI -- though the screen is only 0.1" smaller on the P7, OneUI seems to be able to show much more information -- even as simple as icon labels. More of a preference thing I guess.
