This'll be my first time doing so, and I'll be sending in a 2 in 1 dell as well. Looks like they use the BIOS date.

Not sure how old your Trade-in device is or what processor it has? We have some handy tips to help you find this information below. Simply select your Trade-in device's operating system and follow the steps:
Windows Laptop
If your Trade-in unit is a Windows Laptop, follow these steps:
Press the Windows key on your keyboard
Start typing System
Select System Information.
Here you will see the BIOS date, which shows the age of your laptop, as well as the Processor.
If the Windows key is not available on your keyboard, simply right-click the Windows icon located on the bottom-left corner of your screen using your mouse and choose System

It's a little bit confusing, but the page you checked are for the current products that have the trade-in promotion. The laptop requirements that qualify for trade-in are more generalized. Please check the link below instead.

I stay away from any laptop with recognized hinge issues. I've bought two over the past few years that were used carefully, even left open on a desk for 95% of usage just to avoid potential hinge issues, yet all it took was one fateful open/close to break the weak hinge connections. On the other hand, I have a 6 year old Dell 5000 series 2 in 1 that hasnt been babied at all, and not a single issue, with no reports of wide spread hnge issues either. Take the warnings as real, or you might be the next person commenting on these threads about it.

FWIW...I bought overpriced accident/damage protection warranties from the manufacturers before my 1 year original warranty was up, and used that to fix the hinge and immediately sold them after and replaced with laptops that didn't have the issue. Manufacturers (particularly Dell and Lenovo, even bought through Costco) will NOT honor a warranty repair for hinge issues, always claiming it as accident damage and not a manufacturer defect.

Called local warehouse and not in warehouse. Online only.

Specs are great but worried about that screen door effect on the screen...

Surface event is on Wednesday. Will wait to see if new surface devices are worth the premium..

That's a pretty high res for a small screen.

Seems like the problem is more pronounced on OLED panels fitted with a digitizer ("touchscreen OLED"). I'm highly interested too, but this is a big concern given the trade-in

I actually got this laptop few days ago. While the performance is good the screen door effect is very apparent. I decided to return this laptop.

How crazy Smilie Literally almost 7 years on the dot!

They go by bios date, so if that's 10/12/2015, then I would give them a call and get clarification on this one.

Interesting, my early 2015 5th gen i5 ThinkPad with latest BIOS has a "BIOS Date" of Late 2021. Not sure if I should try my luck.

Yeah I wish I could see it. Any chance the screen is 90hz like the other oled lenovo 14" displays?

A couple questions before I purchase:
What is my laptop doesn't pass the trade-in? Do they send the laptop back?
Do I still get to use the $3000 gift card if I decide to return the Lenovo laptop within 90 days?

Thanks in advance

Great deal, but as an IT Professional working for DOD, I would steer clear away from Lenovo. Chinese made computers are unreliable and strictly prohibited to use on any government sites due to spyware concerns. I personally had a Lenovo as a computer for college back in the day. That POS broke right after warranty
Interesting, considering MacBooks are assembled in China and like most computers, have parts sourced from supply chain all over the world.

It's more likely the government has strict sourcing requirements and device trust capabilities that limit access to anything sensitive to government provided devices. I mean...that is what my company does, and we're not anywhere near government levels of sensitive data.

He's referring to the SuperFish incident from a couple of years ago, which was legitimately concerning. But that's been resolved, and considering how many Thinkpads are deployed in US government service contracts, I wouldn't worry about it.

To those who're concerned about hinges, the following item also qualifies. Price is $100 more, but you get dedicated graphics card.
