The predecessor to this version is my all time favorite (and currently used) headset, BUT be warned of a fatal design flaw in the hinge. While this version has reinforced it, it's only done so with plastic. If you look up "Arctis pro hinge" on Google, you can find plenty of content on how they've completely fallen apart and the absurd lengths people (myself included) have gone through to fix or reinforce it. For normally 350 USD, the only hinge the product depends on shouldn't be made of plastic. If you do buy it, I recommend reinforcing it, even if it does mean ruining the beautiful outside of the product. It'll save you in the long run.

I'll continue to rock my 1st generation ones until they give, but I wanted to warn you guys. It's an AMAZING head set, it's just absolute bummer of a product issue I'd rather you folks not face later on.

That being said, for 250, that's a great price.

Yup - this one works on Xbox, PC, Switch and PlayStation 4/5.

For those that own the Arctis Pro Wireless, here's the comparison - https://www.rtings.com/headphones...shold=0.10

IMO it's not worth upgrading from the Arctis Pro. Otherwise it's a nice headset overall.

I wish this model had an optical in. I know the previous generation did but the one I received had the Bluetooth bug so I sent it back and went with a set of Astros and a Bluetooth receiver.

I believe you can adjust the amount of background noise you can let through using the Sonar app and there's even a feature to use AI to virtually eliminate any background noise. I haven't delved too deep in the settings since I had to do some errands.
But that's on PC only I believe? Unless I'm wrong?

The fact that they sold out makes me feel a bit better, when I jump on a deal with not much research, and it stays around for days... that makes me nervous that it isn't the deal I thought it was Big Grin.

Anyone can comment how well or not these headphones keep the sound in? I have arctis 7p now and pretty much everything that i hear can be heard outside and pretty loud too. Are these the same or keep the sound in better?

I don't know about '...sounds like you're talking from inside a cave...' but I have heard in reviews that they could use a better mic compared to some of the competition and price. That said, the reviews were overall amazing for the headset and this is a tempting price!

mic is certainly not the best out there, but it's very good. there are a ton of youtube reviews that have mic tests so you can hear for yourself and you can make "good" sound "very good" to "great" with some sonar tweaking

as for me, i already have a nice dedicated desktop mic so these will be mostly used as atmos/dts x spatial audio headphones for gaming. i'll use the mic to switch sources if i need to move around the room for whatever reason, and it will most definitely work for that just fine

So one USB works for everything and the other USB only works for Xbox or does it work for PC too? I am a PlayStation and some PC player
The USB port labeled 'Xbox' will work on anything. The only difference with this version is a chip inside the base that's needed for Xbox.

I think you received wrong info in other replies. The XBox port will not work on everything. It'll only work with XBox and PC. However, for PC the sound will be limited to 16-bit instead of 24-bit. Also, you won't be able to use software on that port.

You cannot use the XBox port with PS5 or Switch. The USB port can be used with everything. If you play with PS5 and PC, this version can be used, but the functionality and bitrate for PC will be limited.

I do not think the XBox port will work with PS5 or Switch.

I had one of these headsets in the past and returned it. The Xbox port ONLY works with Xbox and pc, and it also caps the maximum bitrate to 16 bit as well I believe. The non Xbox port works on everything except Xbox and can do up to 32 bit I believe. So unless your use case involves an Xbox, I would honestly suggest getting the other version. I specifically wanted to hook up to a PC or Switch and my PS5 so the Xbox one was a bit of a letdown for me.
