Based on a relatively mild 2022 update, I'm inclined to open up my 2021 iPad Pro and start enjoying the much improved experience. The other reason is that many people complain iPadOS is holding back the cutting edge hardware, and this is somewhat true. Until they decide to turn iPadOS into a true multi-user, multi-tasking system, the "latest and greatest" is underutilized.
And BTW the new entry-level iPad starting price is ridiculous. I'm shocked they didn't increase the prices of the new iPad Pros. $50 and nobody even blinks.
Isn't this a better deal than this expired one from Walmart? 🤔

I had a Chase Offer for $10 back, so my net price (before taxes) was $590. I've started to use the new iPad, and the M1 chip smokes the old Apple A9X lol. But mainly, there's a LOT more RAM (8GB vs 2GB), which greatly improves the UX in Safari. I'm happy with the form factor and larger screen size. It's still portable, which is why I wouldn't want to own the 12.9" model.
To directly answer your question, not everyone has Costco so I'd rate the Walmart deal as slightly better. It looks like Costco has different configurations on sale, so that's a plus. Chase is giving me a one year extended warranty on the purchase, so I feel comfortable that if it makes it 2 years, it will last a long time. I take extremely good care of my electronics. I expect no less than 5 years of iPadOS updates from today. One day, we will be rocking iPadOS 20 on these iPads.
