I want to congratulate the winners who picked this up as the new model is virtually identical.

I'm coming from the original iPad Pro 9.7", so this is a very nice upgrade for me. The old one still works "well," albeit the performance is a bit disappointing (mainly kneecapped by the 2GB RAM). For the media consumption I do (ebooks and video), the 12.9" screen just isn't all that appealing to me, size wise. If I had seen the $799 deal for the Pro 12.9", I would have thought about it a bit but don't believe my decision would have changed. If I were a "creative pro," then different story.

Based on a relatively mild 2022 update, I'm inclined to open up my 2021 iPad Pro and start enjoying the much improved experience. The other reason is that many people complain iPadOS is holding back the cutting edge hardware, and this is somewhat true. Until they decide to turn iPadOS into a true multi-user, multi-tasking system, the "latest and greatest" is underutilized.

And BTW the new entry-level iPad starting price is ridiculous. I'm shocked they didn't increase the prices of the new iPad Pros. $50 and nobody even blinks.
I have to ask for your input:

Isn't this a better deal than this expired one from Walmart? 🤔

If I'm not mistaken, Costco is $624 with an excellent return policy. The deals are comparable, but you might be paying slightly more at Costco. For those who insist we will see even better deals for BF, that is unknowable. Officially the 2021 iPad Pro has been replaced by the new model, so we have no idea if Apple has already shut down the production of the previous model. Are retailers clearing out inventory, or will they get many more for BF? I have no idea.

I had a Chase Offer for $10 back, so my net price (before taxes) was $590. I've started to use the new iPad, and the M1 chip smokes the old Apple A9X lol. But mainly, there's a LOT more RAM (8GB vs 2GB), which greatly improves the UX in Safari. I'm happy with the form factor and larger screen size. It's still portable, which is why I wouldn't want to own the 12.9" model.

To directly answer your question, not everyone has Costco so I'd rate the Walmart deal as slightly better. It looks like Costco has different configurations on sale, so that's a plus. Chase is giving me a one year extended warranty on the purchase, so I feel comfortable that if it makes it 2 years, it will last a long time. I take extremely good care of my electronics. I expect no less than 5 years of iPadOS updates from today. One day, we will be rocking iPadOS 20 on these iPads. LMAO
