Even after 20%, prices are still very high. Nike has a huge excess inventory problem right now. Wait a few more weeks for bargain prices.

Even after 20%, prices are still very high. Nike has a huge excess inventory problem right now. Wait a few more weeks for bargain prices.

I'm fairly sure they just jacked up prices when doing this. I had been looking at shorts the last few days and now the sticker price looks a lot higher, or at least items that were on sale already (which was many of them) are now back to full.

With 60 day return policy, I'm buying what I want now as many go OOO and if prices drop, a simple chat will refund the difference

I just bought a bunch of stuff too. Some of the prices went up, some of them actually fell (trying to get those price adjusted).

Seems like sound advice. But it might not work out the way you expect. Nike will probably channel most of their inventory bulge to factory outlet stores around the country and also unload some stock to discount retailers such as TJX. Nike might be averse to deeper discounts for their online direct sales channel. Ultra low pricing would tarnish their image as a premium brand.

Now, I ended up buying a pair of Dri-FIT Wild Run Men's 7" running shorts for $28.78. To put that price in context I purchased two pairs of Wild Run shorts back in the early days of the Pandemic of April 2020. This was a period when demand for athletic apparel froze up. Retailers slashed prices and the deals were epic. I paid $36 and $37 for those two pairs of Wild Run shorts in 2020 and that was a great deal at the time. Love those shorts! So this week's deal being even lower than the prices during the COVID Crash that tanked the economy and sent unemployment to post WW2 record high is quite notable. Adjusted for inflation the difference in price is even more substantial. Admittedly, many of the other products on the Nike website are still overpriced. But there's deals to be had. If you see something that catches your eye and the price is good I recommend snapping it up.

If you live in the Portland, Oregon area and know someone who is an employee at Nike (not that difficult since they are everywhere), the Nike Employee store gives 50% off entire purchases. If the Nike employee just gives you a guest pass (as opposed to being present for the purchase) then its just 40%.

Same deal with Adidas and their employee store, if they are more your jam.

Just an FYI for those who live in the area, though if you do live in the area the benefit is already pretty well known in the city.
