Outrageously good deal on one of the best ranked air purifiers out there.

Have used this against smoke odors from wild fires before and the carbon filters remove it all! Usually the price for this is 169 or 179 and pretty sure it was not on deal earlier this year.

Have also used 2 other Winix units in the past that are different filters, but you get 2 years worth and both on sale right now

Costco: https://www.costco.com/winix-true...62892.html

Walmart: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Winix-...hbdg=L1300 - now $129
Great timing right now with fall flu hitting hard!

Reading reviews, I dont really see a reason to pick up this model over the C545 from costco/walmart?
They seem to perform near identically, but the C545 comes with more filters, and filters regularly go on sale if youre a costco member.
I buy generic amazon ones. It's cheap enough that it won't break the bank and cheap enough not to buy another entire purifier. I think it's like $20-$30 for a single pack last time i bought it.
Never seen the Winix 5500-2 priced that low. That's an easy purchase, thanks!

This is only $119 if you have Amazon Prime. It's $132 without Prime.

I have one already. Like it. Waiting for a WiFi one of similar performance, so I can change it from my bed.

That would be the C545, which is the costco link in the OP.

So is the Costco link essentially the same product? Or older version?

i have an older model and FYI the filters are not cheap. they no longer make washable filters for the older model so it costs $90 for 2 pack filters (at Costco. more expensive elsewhere). they are like printers where the actual printer is relatively cheap but the ink costs money. who cares about re-usability/environment.

Good price, I already have one though. I'm due to replace filters, any recommended replacements for the carbon and the main filter?

You are 100% correct. I have the OG 5500 and it's easier and cheaper to get filters for the c545.

Do you still keep buying filters for the 5500 ? or did you switch to the C545. I heard the 5500 filters are not cheap compared to the C545. Is this correct ?

Bought a second one for upstairs, big fan of this filter. Seconded on juvinious' question - is there a good place to pick up bulk filters?

Edit: Bought the 545 from Costco instead. The filters seem mostly identical, it's $20 cheaper, and isn't a black monolith hogging attention in the room.
