Someone will probably come along and thread crap because these are not the newest generation nor the highest AH available but this is still a smoking good deal. I have Ridgid tools so I am in for 3 sets but even if I wasn't these would be a good deal just to harvest some new, cheap high discharge 18650 cells.

I would say this is a very solid deal. Direct tools outlet has the 2 battery only kit for $180. So $50 for the same two batteries PLUS a charger? No brainer if in the market for ridgid batteries
What is the warranty on this battery should incase you want to replace it with the new version. Can it be replaced by taking it directly to a home depot store?

This is an insane deal! You can complain all you want about not being "high output", but for most tools, it barely matters.
I just had an old Octane 3AH battery that started smoking. It took 15 minutes on hold to get ahold of somebody at Ridgid, but they just sent me a "high output" 4AH replacement... with not requirement to visit a service center. Their power tool LSA is a big pain, but their battery warranty seems to be the best out there.
Looks like 5x 2170 cells inside. Can anyone confirm?
Nope. The only batteries Ridgid offers with 21700 cells is the new $200 8AH high output, and the older 3AH Octane that's only available as a 2-piece kit for $220.

DTO blems were $45 plus shipping without the charger late last year.
At HD, there was a FP deal at $99 a couple weeks prior to that.
Neither of those included the charger. A bag would have made it even sweeter, but I'm not complaining.
Now, I'm hoping the inflator goes on sale. May be in the market for a blower as well, but I haven't sussed out if Ridgid's are any good.
