The coolife is ABS (more prone to crack, lower shelf life). The Omni is Polycarbonate which generally is more expensive and dents (and recover mostly) vs crack like ABS. If I buy any suitcases, I always recommend poly over abs. I had a ~$100 abs that lasted me a couple years and an equally poly going on for much longer. Study up on abs vs poly, a lot of information out there

I just completed a samsonite warranty. Process is you fill out a form online then bring the luggage to a samsonite store. Pay $15, they ship it to be repaired then back to your home. They reported my luggage was outside of their 10y warranty though but was able to get shipping cost refunded and was given a 50% off coupon on any samsonite item.

They were the brand Coolife. This was what I got her and very impressed with them.

Had this set and returned it. The Chinese brand I bought for my girlfriend was better quality and cheaper.

I bought the 28" alone back in Feb for $160. No issues so far on 5 roundtrip flights. Good deal for the set.

I bought a Coolife luggage set early this year and was very well pleased. I have gone on 2 trips and the luggage has held up very well.

What didnt you like about the Samsonite set, just curious? The cool life is ABS and polycarb as opposed to samsonite being 100% polycarb. I know material type isn't everything though.

Raw material of the plastic isn't everything, construction of the shell and reinforcements are important too. And the coolife description says it's hybrid abs and polycarb. You've got valuable info here from people saying they returned this particular samsonite set and like the coolife better.

Agree, the coolife could be better overall. Just my 1 cent of in general poly > abs. Also note this samsonite has 10 yr limited warranty vs 2 yes on the coolife.

No corner guards on the Samsonite. The wheels and handles are cheap. This line of the samsonite is the lower end.
I actually emailed Coolife about the abs/poly thing myself. It was a while ago so I don't have their response handy but they did respond and what they had explained to me was enough to get me to pull the trigger.

personally i think Samsonite is over priced, certainly for the feature.
i have no less than 10 Samsonite luggage (most retired due to wear on wheels). while the zipper version works okay for the carry on and small check bags, i have experienced a few times where the zipper fail on larger bags (28 or larger). if you do international travel often and only like to bring one larger luggage, i highly recommend not getting the zipper version.

Read up on people trying to actually make a claim on Samsonite's warranty. Sounds like you have to ship it back yourself and they are always out of parts. The Amazon reviews for coolife said they were just getting replacements shipped to them.

Bought the medium and carry on combo from warehouse for 130$ two months back. It went for one international round trip and shows no damage. Quite impressive so far. 210$ for all three seems good deal.
