Although power users have done this for some time (and I reference it often as "power users who can make the appropriate optimizations") there are some distributions making the rounds which try to absolutely strip out everything from Windows 11 in an effort to fit it into the smallest memory and storage footprint possible. The starting point is still retail Windows (so this isn't a sort of truly minimal OS like Windows IOT/Embedded) and the options and sources are all shady enough to recommend all but the bravest souls go ahead and pass. It's not that there aren't meaningful ways to reduce the Windows footprint, but for everyday usage there is a point at which you can be going too far.

Truly some Linux distributions are drop-dead easy these days. While you're right to be concerned about driver/functionality (touchscreens and audio are typical problem areas), the relatively spacious SSD here means you can opt for a pretty "normal" mainline distribution that has a good chance of having resolved a lot of edge cases (whereas systems with even more restrictive RAM and storage requirements push you towards certain distributions. Here's just one of many options to consider: https://blog.linuxmint.com/

If anything, let go and adopt the idea that if you aren't installing a few instances of different Linux distributions to give them a go you're not really trying. Honestly, for me once I get a Linux instance up with a solid browser that's about all I need for a functional desktop (and that's only when I need something as a desktop rather than as a script box).

Good luck!
Jon
It's perhaps worse than you think, as in a 4GB PC Windows will specifically perform an incomplete load as Windows is forced to limit how much of the operating system is loaded into RAM to conserve space. Paired with a weak CPU this just creates a negative feedback loop wherein your first application loaded after booting up starts demanding loads of page file/virtual memory/SSD-storage-as-RAM and the CPU to service those requests was already being overtasked with the basics of running Windows. Windows PCs limited to 4GB, especially those not equipped with 4-core i-series CPUs, are better suited to power users who can make the appropriate optimizations (possibly including removing Windows for a Linux operating system).

Good luck!
Jon
Well this feel like deja vu of the HP Touchpad

Not a bad deal and the n6000 can scoot alright on basic tasks but man 4gb ram is just becoming untenable as we move deeper into the 2020s.

Great screen specs though.

Almost…

4gb ram is a nope for me dawg. Windows uses close to 4gb itself and it doesn't leave anything for the igpu to use.

If you're getting it for basic basic stuff, it could be okay, but I'd thing an android or Apple tablet would be a better fit.

The previous poster mentioned a move toward $99 closer to Black Friday. A 'Windows Lite' (Tiny11) uses far less RAM, and an AntiX or Peppermint Devuan Linux install alleviated not only the RAM issue, but the overheating issue as well (Windows runs multiple more background 'services' that add far more heat than a SystemD-less Linux OS.

For $99 I'd bite. Just to F around with it.

What is the Windows Lite that you are talking about? Also, I'm a n00b at Linux, but I've heard that getting a touchscreen to work can be problematic... On other things, not necessarily this.
