Pretty sure those places also sell real G-Shocks, these are the normal casio line, plastic case is the actual watch, G-Shock is wearing an extra case, plastic and screen grade is also lesser, but for kids its fine.

It's funny that they call these "heavy duty". These are the cheap Walmart/Kohl's versions of the G-Shock line. Still not a bad deal for kids or a small budget.

bought this for my 6 year old and he loves playing with it. Its certainly not as tough as it is tough-looking, but he hasn't managed to break it in just over 8 months.

Not really a strong 'deal' as i got it for $18.77 on a random day.

It might seem like it, but it's made by Casio, the same company that makes G-shocks. There's nothing knock off about these. Similar designs but for cheaper. Less robust for sure, but the ones I have lasted a good while in the elements.
