Bought this like a week ago from the last sd. Beads are contained in pockets throughout the blanket

Fwiw I was pleasantly suprised that it comes with a removable duvet as well.

So for anyone thinking of buying this, it is not very effective as a standard weighted blanket. I bought this, I have it on my bed right now.

Most weighted blankets have small pockets sewn in to hold the beads in a small area, like 4x4 squares. The sewn in areas for this blanket are large, like 12 inches across. This means the beads will not stay on you but do instead roll off of you and onto the bed. This is why you see people who have it say that the weight is on the bed, and not on you, even though you can see the sewn in pockets.

It is a nice heavy blanket, but it will not give the same compression effect that a regular weighted one will give. I still like mine because it does give a small effect for me because of how I sleep, but when i really want the feeling i still use my wifes much lighter 12 lbs blanket for the effect.

Not sure if that's completely true. Last picture shows there are sections sewn in to prevent the beads from all gathering all on one edge.

Equivalent weight of a 10 lb twin size and would only work if you had a California king or king bed. It's a good price but it seems like it's for a niche group of people

They don't necessarily need to be even though other commentors say they actually are.

These can work even if they just hold a person in place.

The weight, even if it did fall to the side, will still keep the blanket pressing you into the bed which is what you want.

I can tell you havent actually tried the product ( i have )
When the beads fall off to the side, the weight is on the bed, not the user.

Again, please dont buy this actual garbage.

Not true. This comes comes with a duvet which might be why you think this but, like other weighted blankets, the beads are sewn into small squares.

Why would you buy a single therapeutic weight blanket for a group of people

I've priced weighted blankets in the past and this sounds VERY CHEAP! Most cost $80+ dollars. I can't see this being good quality

It seems people are missing what you are saying. The squares are too big and if most of them roll to one side the blanket becomes unbalanced. This would not happen if the squares are 4x4 but since they are almost 12x12 like you said this causes the weight to be off balance like you said.
