You can generate points with this card more easily but AMEX has better lounge access. Boils down to do you how much do you travel.
annual fee is 550
It has never been 120k. The highest it's been is 100k

During covid my Chase Amazon and Chase Freedom both got multiple CLIs that were from Chase. I only knew after I received an email saying my credit limit had increased, which I initially ignored as Spam/Phishing. Neither had particularly heavy use, but they are both quite old now and I had never requested a CLI for them all those years.

I know banks did lower some folks CLs during Covid, but seems they increased others with more out of their good will? Confused
Same. None of my cards with 5 digit limits were reduced during Covid, and several of them (Chase, Bank of America) were raised without asking.

I really enjoyed this card when the AF was $450. It's all relative but $550 made it not worth it anymore for my usage. I switched to the Venture X.

When re-applying for the card, do I have to fill out a new application or I can just call and upgrade my current card to the Chase Sapphire Reserve?

Apply for a new one. An upgrade will NOT QUALIFY for a Sign up Bonus

Me too, they made a few changes that might break even IF you use the updated changes. Not too fond of the coupon book like AMEX

same, I canceled this one in September on my anniversary and switched to Venture X. Now I am debating if I should jump on this for SUB, I had the card for the last 4 years.

I'm thinking of downgrading to cfu and reapply again for a new CSP/CSR for the bonus. But yea it's hard to justify the 250 AF.

Perks I ended up with $50 credit for some stuff and bunch of discount members like
Instacart and DoorDash…. I think the discount is per calendar year… so get $300 rebate now and $300 next year… pays for itself plus some I. The first year

Wonder if it will get to 100k ot 120k again.
Either way, i did aign up for 120k back in the day and closed the card at the end of the year before the new annual fee kicked in. Question, how ling do we have to wait to get in on another UR point deal, say this one?

That's a ding on your credit score.

Are you referring to the $300 annual travel credit? If so, I believe it used to be the case that it was per calendar year, but Chase changed it to per anniversary year. So no more double dipping within the first year.

Thanks for the heads up. Got the preferred about a year ago so can't get this.
This is what I'm not clear about if someone here as experience on these questions:

1) I had Chase saphire preferred 2-3 years ago and so applying for Reserve a different product would I qualify or need ot wait the 48 months?

2) the $300 travel credit, is that only applied after 1st anniversary and is it for any travel charged and not necessairly via their portal?

I went to Chase bank today, they told me that currently they do not have any incentive for applying at the bank vs online for Reserve but the banker also said if I want to apply for CS Preferred, she can waive the AF and also give 70k SUB. I applied for Reserve at the bank and got approved within 2 minutes.
Nice of them to offer no fee for CS Preferred, which state if you don't mind me asking as my local in FL didn't had this offer.

If you received a sign up bonus for the CSP then you need to wait 48 months from the date your received the bonus to be eligible for another bonus from a Sapphire product. You'll also need to downgrade the card to either the free Sapphire card or one of the Freedom cards before applying for a Sapphire product. This is because you can not have both the CSP & CSR at one time. Don't cancel it if you can avoid it.

2) the $300 travel credit, is that only applied after 1st anniversary and is it for any travel charged and not necessarily via their portal?
It is available the millisecond you are approved and either A) Get your card number or B) Get your physical card. Chase's definition of "travel" is very broad and this is the easiest credit to use. No travel portal only BS like CapOne.

How does the $300 travel credit works? If i use the CSR to buy a plane ticket for $700 do I will get the $300 back statment credit back or the travel credit works like Amex only applies to in inflight purchase, airline fees, etc?

I thought if you have the the sapphire no annual fee one you have to project change that one too. Not just the preferred and reserve before signing up for this card?
