I ordered this luggage before the thread was posted because I think it is a good deal. The luggage seems pretty sturdy and the weight is 10.3lbs. I actually weighed it myself using the travel scale, pretty light for it size. I've used few Samsonite and I never have any problem with it, so hopefully this one will last. The color doesn't look as bad as the picture, I was kind of concern about the color before I bought too.

On Amazon both have decent overall ratings but Omni 2 seems to have a lot more bad recent reviews….still can't decide since like Omni 2 for seems to have better wheels which might be necessary for large (potentially heavy) suitcase.

I'd go with this post. People in the Omni 2 thread were saying Coolife ( a cheap amazon chinese brand) had better quality furniture even though it was ABS compared to Omni 2.

I realize no one has a story of an airline caring that this is over the standard ~62 linear inch dimension limit for checked bags but why can't they just make bags that adhere to that limit if they are going to be this close anyway....

I disagree. I would rather not get one than get the one in this post; due to the wheels (only 4 instead of 8). I travel often enough and the wheels make a big difference...

Your call. I find that the quality of the wheel is more important than whether it's double wheeled or not. But I can't comment on this specifically for this model.
