I figured out how to get windows 11 installed and for the unit to be stable

Do all the updates for the system you can out-of-the-box for windows 10

Then go to Microsoft and use the Windows 11 download tool and to do an installation of windows 11

As soon as Windows 11 is up and running, go to the update section for windows and pause all windows updates immediately and allow no updates to occur

Download the Intel driver assistant program directly from Intel's website. You can google the tool. Run that tool to update any drivers - specifically the intel video driver to V31 or higher

Now download the 'show and hide updates' tool from Microsoft. Run it, and hide any Intel video driver updates that Microsoft wants to install as these will be older than the one you just installed from Intel directly. Be sure to uncheck the box under advanced options where it tries to automatically fix issues. We don't want that. We just want to hide the video driver update. And that is what is causing the issues…at least it was for me and other people I read about online.

When you hide the intel video driver update that windows wants to install, it will no longer try to install that particular driver…. Hidden updates are blocked from installing 👍

So now you can go back to the regular Windows update program and unpause it and continue with regular Windows updates.

I did all of the remaining windows 11 updates of the system and it is running very well… seems stable.

The key is to prevent Microsoft/windows from installing any version 30 or older of the Intel video driver… and instead, you use the Intel driver support tool to get the latest intel video driver - version 31.

Hope this helps. Took me about 10 reinstall's to get it all figured out, and I hope I can save someone else some headaches

The reviews are pretty bad about this device.
Wouldn't even think of buying this at that price.

Soldered 8GB Memory is the dealbreaker for me on this one.

Can't the flip use the main camera and is half the cost? Besides your little backpacking example, there's nobody replacing a laptop of any size with a fold. Lol let me buy the over priced phone so I can watch YOUTUBE vids and email and take a selfie??!? We all have smart tvs at home or laptops that provide better viewing experiences.

Anyways you have your opinion and I have mine. As I said in the beginning the specs warrant the price increase, not the usefulness to any particular person.
The point of the Fold4 isn't to be the best at something, it's to give you everything in one handheld device. It's basically the Jack of All Trades in its own rights. The Lenova Fold gives you one device in well, one device. But it's trying to mask that under the fold function which serves no other function other than folding and definitely not a Jack of All Trades in its field.

I agree with you though, you have your opinion and I have mines.

This is a cool concept but they killed it with 8GB of soldered memory. Beyond the screen, this product is behind its competitors in stats - I would avoid it. It won't be very upgradable. There will be increased risk of repair due to the large screen and configurations (newer screen tech and higher risk of breaking screen) and repairs will be expensive unless you do it yourself - which will likely be a pain.

Begs the question why they would put such a dogshit overheating processor in such a cool form factor.
Probably way underclocked or has a limit on it's speed to keep it from overheating. Those really thin laptops without a good fan/heatsink were the same way.

Too bad, because I kinda really want to like this device.
Same this looked like a great all in one mobility and productivity device, if I could get my text messages on this and get calls from my cellphone provider it might even replace my cellphone.

Folding screen = Cancer.
Yeah thats why I would definitely be getting the extended warranty on this product.

They figure only idiots would buy it and they would have no problem paying $3k because they are idiots.
Agreed priced way to high, but they are attempting to corner the people who are also willing to pay over $2K for a samsung fold, this is extremely more powerful and larger screen space, so productivity would be greatly expanded.

Really wish when they get to the 3rd or 4th gen they could incorporate a cellphone provider into the device and I might actually use it as a laptop/cellphone replacement all in one device.

Unsure if you watched the YouTube review videos but the folding function allows it to be held more like a book for portability when moving around, and still having a large screen instead of it being a keyboard. Just because it doesn't fit in your pocket doesn't mean it isn't portable.

That's the thing though, nobody carries a book out and about in real life. When was the last time you've seen someone carry a book out in public other than college? And those same people in college when they're carrying books out in public and not in a bag of sorts, they do the exact same thing to their laptops. It doesn't change what you have to bring to carry it in most cases. So the portability thing only makes sense on paper, in real life application it doesn't serve much purpose.

The Fold4 literally changes what you have to bring to carry it. The difference between having a carrier tablet and just having your pockets.

I wouldnt put a fold4 in my pocket, especially if i am only wearing jeans - i rarely even put my s22 ultra in my pocket and i even have that in a folding wallet style case. I see ppl carrying day planners/laptops and such when near coffee shops/libraries areas where you see ppl working on the go.

I see more use carrying around a portable 15" screen and my cellphone than the fold if i REALLY needed the screen space.

It's not whether or not "you" will put it in your jean pockets, it's the fact that people can if they so want to.

Exactly, you just made my point. People carrying laptops and planners or they stow it away in a carrying case at those coffee shops/libraries you speak of. So in pretty much all situations someone is carrying a laptop, they're carrying the Lenova Fold. At any point they stow their laptop, they would also stow their Lenova Fold in a carrying case. There's almost no special circumstance where you can store the Lenova Fold or carry it and not do the same with a smaller laptop. I'm not saying there is absolutely no target audience for this product but it is way too niche. It's trying to create a problem so it can become the solution. It's too big for a portable experience without a need of a carrying case and it doesn't offer much over a smaller sized laptop. Again, I'm sure there is an audience for it but they'll need to revise their plan on what it wants to be that separates it into its own class of product.

The Fold4 in every circumstance you have a regular sized pocket, you no longer need to bring a carrying case. You have a mini-tablet that does not require anything extra as you'll almost always have your phone with you. It is an actual solution to a problem that people have. You can literally have an all digital library in this phone and take hand written notes since it functions as a tablet that's big enough for that purpose. So you can essentially go to college with literally just this phone on most days.
So this product essentially creates the solution of not having to bring anything else with you but your phone.
