Just received a Grizl 6. Canyon's sizing calculator is spot on, use it! First ride was yesterday, a 40mile gravel ride, and it performed well. So far I am impressed.
Here. Deore 1x12, hydraulic disc brakes, good color, $699 is a very good price. But many other brands are also having great discounts. Shop around before you make the decision.
I don't know about that particular model and I'm not an avid cyclist, but I have some hardcore cyclist friends. What they say is that because of Canyon's direct-to-consumer business model, you get A LOT more bang for your buck as opposed to a buying from a local Trek or Specialized dealer for example. I also hear that Canyon has a bit more street cred than some other direct-to-consumer brands, for what that's worth. Hope this helps!

Grand Canyon 5 looks like a good choice for neighborhood and light trail riding to replace my ancient Rock Hopper. Any bike people care to comment?
I don't have first-hand experience with any Canyon bikes, but having said that – yes, absolutely. The disc brakes, bigger wheels and simpler drivetrain will be a huge improvement over an old Rockhopper.

Been riding a canyon spectral cf7 for years. Can't say enough good about it. I'm not a roadie but if I was, I'd be looking at canyon real hard. They offer well thought out frames and good kit for the prices. If anyone is in the market for a bike I always suggest giving canyon a shot

If you feel confident in selecting your size and style, and you can assemble and adjust the bike such that it's safe and works well, this might be a good way to go. But bike shops do provide a lot of value, which is why they still exist even though a bunch of boutique shops in other industries have faded away.

Congrats on the purchase! I was seriously eyeing up the Grizl, but ended up pulling the trigger on a Specialized Diverge Comp Carbon that was discounted at my LBS...would have gotten more and spent less with Canyon (or the Lauf Seigla that was also being considered), but chose the certainty of knowing the fit was right and having the local support...(also happened to catch wifey in a moment of weakness, which didn't hurt! )

Diverge is a nice ride! My other two bikes are Trek. I hate cutting out the LBS, but Canyon was the only way I was going to get the spec and capability I wanted at a price my wife was happy with! 😂

My LBS had their Rockhoppers marked down by 35%, and the Grand Canyon 5 still looks like better 'bang for the buck'... the GC5 compares with the RockHopper Elite or Expert level (RH has slightly better fork, the GC has better component group...personally not a fan of SRAM below the GX level)

I was eyeing the Grizl CF SL 7 1By....better components and a dropper for a good chunk less than I spent, but I was at the shop and jokingly sent my wife a picture telling her it wanted to follow me home and got a in reply...so jumped on it! lol

Have 3 canyon bikes, including the Roadlite which is on sale here.
Absolutely love them. I found the sizing tool to be spot on, which I was I was a bit apprehensive about. But it all worked out. They also offer a 30 day return if it's not the right fit.
The quality is top notch and you definitely save via the direct to consumer approach. I will say this, I've gotten some serious shit from my local bike shop because I went with a Canyon over buying from them. So much so that I now get my bikes serviced at a different shop. Some (emphasis on some, not all) bike shops take serious offense to the direct to consumer model.
Love my Canyon bikes (Ultimate, Grail and Roadlite) and will happily recommend them. Get your service and buy parts at your local bike shop.

Try reaching out to them...I have talked to their CS department several times, and they were always super friendly and helpful...
Their regular prices already have great 'bang for the buck', with further discounts, some of the deals are fantastic!
