After looking at their specs, you could definitely bring in a channel with the MH, but its only rated to throw up to 1 ounce lures. Depending on the river and current, you may need 3-4 ounces of lead or more to hold bottom. I'm not sure how confident i'd be tossing 4 ounces of lead on the MH (not including the weight of your bait). It would probably work, but I would say it wouldn't be ideal for catfish.
I wouldn't even attempt to fish for big blues or flatheads with the MH, getting a hookup is one thing, but if you hook into a 40 plus pound fish i'm not sure these would have the backbone to land them, especially in a decent current.
If you're looking for catfish specific rods there are many on the market. Check around black friday as lots of times they run sales and you can get a catfish specific MH rod that can throw 5 ounces of lead easy in the $50-75 range on a BF sale. I have two whisker seeker catfish rods (one MH and one H) and they are great rods, very sturdy but responsive and you'll never have to worry about your rod breaking with a potential state record fish on the line. There are other brands too that are good, i just don't have personal experience with them. Even the saltwater rated ugly stix would work for big catfish.

"7-foot, Mod/Mod-Fast Actions, EVx-CB-701Mb (medium), EVx-CB-701MHb (medium-heavy)
Two 7-foot crankbait rods feature the slowest actions in the lineup at moderate/moderate-fast. Expect smooth, long casts with the rods generating a lot of line speed. The rods deliver great feel as the lure action resonates all the way through the blank. For hooksets, just continue cranking through the strike and sweep the rod in a long arc rather that snap-set. You'll find treble hooks deeply buried in jaws and keep fish buttoned up all the way to the boat. Choose between the actions by lure size and dive depth. For shallow-to-medium dive depths and lipless cranks, begin with the medium action EVx-CB-701Mb, rated for 8- to 17-pound line and 1/8- to 5/8-ounce lures. For deep-diving baits, the medium-heavy Evx-CB-701MHb is the choice, rated for 10- to 20-pound line and ΒΌ- to 1-ounce baits."

To put a number to it, having a rod specifically for shallow crankbaits and another specifically for deeper crankbaits might improve your odds of catching a fish by a few percent. Learning lots of different baits and when to use them are way more important.
All I'd worry about to start out is to make sure, for example, your baitcaster rod isn't so stiff you can't feel nibbles and get ready to set the hook.
