Once a year I fill about 10 or 12 tanks using one of these....I think for best results you should freeze/chill the 1lb tanks before filling, and the big tank should be inverted when filing

Please weight them and don't overfill. Seriously man. It's all good as long as you don't fill beyond the normal weight.

That is the point.
You need to lower the temp of 1lb tank to limit the evaporation!

Would this work with CO2? I have a 5lb CO2 tank I used to use in kegging homebrewed beer. I wanna fill the little soda steam CO2 canisters with it. It's cheaper to refill the 5lb tank than order soda stream canisters. It looks like the male and female ends would fit each tank.

I'd just make the adapter to run the soda stream right off the brewing CO2. There are guides online. Way cheaper.

For people joking about the safety, just use common sense. Weigh the cylinder as it's filled and don't overfill. It'll be fine. People do this all the time. There are tons of positive reviews.

Flame King makes a refillable 1lb tank and kit if you must insist on using 1lb tanks.

How do you weigh the cylinder as it's being filled, when it's already joined to the larger tank by this adapter?
