Good luck with CITI. Never received account pin.

Does anyone know the maximum amount of transfer out of Discover acct they permit and how often they let you do that ?

My response doesn't answer your question directly but:
Wellsfargo has incoming fund limitation of 10k in a month for personal checking/savings, which means if you were to move funds from discover to WF more than 10k in a month, transfer will likely fail and funds return to discover.

Only 30 days to earn the $450, too bad I have discover saving already but have a zero balance for years. They should really open this to all existing as long as it is new money transfering in.

But $450 in 30 days > $500 in 60 imo..

Edit: IF you have $35k vs the $30k for Citi..
Its not really clear how long we need to keep cash there "Bonus will be credited to the account within 30 days of the account qualifying for the bonus" - this could mean within 30 days AFTER account qualifies, i.e. AFTER holding cash there for x days.

Anybody has link to more precise offer terms?

Plus you earn $68.54/mo interest at 2.35% compared to $0 on the Citi checking account. So you'll get over $500 ($518.54) in 30 days.

Since Citi goes into Jan 2023, theres no need to choose, Do the Discover now, and the Citi after the bonus hits your account.

Remember to figure in the 2.35% for Discover, vs Citi

Does citi offer any good CDs? I'm afraid their Interest rate will be pretty crappy.

It seems if you have a IRA account, then this will not qualify. My friends father when called, then he was told having an IRA saving account disqualify for this promotion.

The Discover is much easier to setup, work with, transfer, etc. Plus, the bonus posts way faster.

I can't personally vouch for this, but supposedly the Discover savings promotions are based on cumulative deposits unlike most other accounts.

i.e. You can deposit 5k, withdraw it, then deposit again until you hit 35k total deposits to achieve the bonus. There are even DPs saying that you can move money between other Discover accounts like checking/money market to do this.

I trust Discover more than citi which has horrible customer service and reputation. Citi also known to steal money from customers, i had close to 3k stolen by them when they close my cc without my consent and remove all my thankyou points

Discover is way better than 95% of the other banks in pretty much every department. I'm a bonus churner and use them as my base primary account. This 450 bonus at discover is rare for them. They will likely pay out in a few days of the transfer and you can pull out the funds right away as there's no hold in account requirement but I'd keep it in

Yeah. This is a big problem. I also called, and was told having an IRA does NOT disqualify me from getting the $450 bonus on a new $35,000 savings account! But I don't want to go to the trouble of opening an account if I won't get the $450.

I wish the CSRs knew better what they are talking about, or at the very least don't give different answers to the same questions.

What do you mean an incoming fund limitation of 10k in a month? Do you have a link to this? I have transferred 6 figures plus into my checking account without any issues.
