Best Buy Twinkly lights on sale for Black Friday (also listed individually below). Some other items may get reduced before BF, although I don't really know if that will be the case.

Daaaaaaaaamn this is a smoking good price! Got mine for $200 last year on special - $20 price match when they dropped it to $180.

$175 is the lowest yet at Best Buy. Costco had the dark green version for $160 last year but this year raised to $170.

Edit: be aware that the music adapter is an absolute joke. I mean, seriously, it's terrible.

Careful when you put this into your cart it'll try to automatically add a Geek squad warranty with it. I had to cancel my order and reorder when I noticed

You didn't notice the price went up by $35 when placing the order?

And no, BB did not automatically add an extended warranty. You probably clicked something without reading.

How well do these work on the outside of a house? Along roof/gutters?

Just got an RGB set to match one I already have. I had bought an RGBW on sale after the holidays last year to go with an RGB but didn't realize you can only group together lights that are the same LED profile. Came across the deal at BB so I snagged another.

They will work, and you can get some cool lighting effects, but nowhere near what they can do on a tree or in some kind of matrix design. They do make these type of lights in a C9 format, which would better in a string outside, but they are more expensive per bulb.

Yeah I wish they had shorter curtains for under gutter matrix magic

I had Gen 1 lights outside last year in Iowa. They lasted about 2 months. The gen 2 lights are supposed to have better weatherproofing. It does say on their website they're only intended to be outside for 90 days. I've had some Gen 2s out there for almost a month. We'll see how they do.

I have had their festoon lights on my patio for over a year. They survived summer and winter.

I ordered some of these about 3 weeks ago. They are pretty awesome. Anyone know best buys price guarantee? I think it's only 15 days, so I'm out of luck getting it adjusted. But I'm still happy with the lights. Might have to snag another set at this price for a higher density tree.

Paid $140 for two of these strands last year in September. I'd say it's a decent deal but not awesome for $180.

Had a heck of a time getting them working. Some combination of restarting the lights and wifi router got them finally working (after a few days of trying). The customer support blamed me a thousand times and wouldn't help very much. Very frustrated with their arrogance.

All that said, the final product is awesome and worth the hassle. Didn't have any issues after the initial setup. They look amazing and are really fun to mess with people. I'd put these on a tree and not outside. Too expensive and don't seem like they would do well with harsh elements.

I don't know how this is FP. The Costco price is better plus you're not buying from worst buy. The music dongle is a complete waste, they sent me one for free as a promo and I tried it once. Twinkly is pretty awesome and mostly works well, until it doesn't. I would recommend buying at Costco for the return policy as well as the cheaper price. Keep in mind the controller is split on the 600 light strands so its not one long strand. I have a pretty large magnolia tree in my front yard, maybe 20' tall and 10' wide, and it took 3 of these to even get enough coverage to have "normal" Christmas lights...to get the effects you need quite a few strands. A lot of the specialty (cluster, festoon) strands are really pretty short too.
