the RTSP firmware from the wyze website is based on old firmware, and may not work with accessories (lamp socket, spot light, etc). I would suggest wz_mini_hacks on github, this allows you to use relatively newer firmware (with support for accessories) with RTSP. Also allows you to setup isolated mode (no wyze servers required)
I have a couple v3s setup around the house with this and my synology server, and they all work great
Seems like a lot of misinformation in this thread:
RTSP link has been posted multiple times but people still saying it doesn't exist
People claiming they dropped features...but it's just a semantics change for anyone who had an account back then. You still get 10 second clips to the cloud free and local SD storage on camera (except wireless outdoor and doorbell? I think). You just need to enable it in the App:
account- services- cam plus lite and then select all your cameras you don't have any premium plan for.
Regarding push notification ads:
account - notifications - push notifications - news and offers toggle to off.
this does make you ineligible for some promos/sales though?
my main gripe with Wyze is the mediocre AI detection. shadows are vehicles, animals are people, light changes are motion etc. but otherwise I don't think it can be beat for the price.
i have 3x v3, 3x v2, 1x Pan&Scan v1, 1x outdoor wireless v1.
edit: to the people thumbing down...which part of this do you find inaccurate?

Spend a little more and get the new wyze v3 pro. Eufy's ball-shaped outdoor cam now has a competitor. And it's much cheaper from their MSRP and can live stream from multiple cameras. Eufy can't do that for whatever reason.
I would wait to see the reviews on the v3 pro to see if the faster processor makes a difference in real world applications. Right now, it just looks like you get a spotlight for $20 more on the v3 pro vs the v3.

Their ball outdoor camera sucks compared to the 2K indoor cameras... I have both outside and the ball one will miss entire cars driving by at night.
It will be interesting to see how this new Wyze cam performs. The audio and sound on the V3 was useless. Hopefully there will be a couple youtube reviews by the release day.
I owned 2 wyze outdoor cams. Then a firmware update broke BOTH of them. Then the website was messed up and the download "link" for the firmware I need was not hyperlinked. Then I tried to contact wyze via email and Twitter and reddit for support and got ignored. Then 6 months later, when the firmware i needed was actually posted, and i updated to fix them ... well, this camera that I originally bought SOLELY for the fact that is didn't require any cloud subscription or anything to record to SD card ... now requires a freaking cloud account to record locally (otherwise, only jpegs) ... when signing up, they beg me to not take the free tier.

Of course not. It's a marketing ploy. The refurb is the deal here
