If you live in Oregon or parts of Washington, you can get this for $25. I just did it (as well as my parents and in-laws) took about a week to get here but I hooked it up last night and its all good

Great deal! switching back to Ecobee from Nest since Google Home is so buggy it's practically unusable. Missed the old Nest app

Smart thermostats really won't save money over a cheap programmable one if you've taken the time to program a schedule. But they are convenient and allow some automation capability if you're into that.

Anyone have thoughts on whether this is worth it as an upgrade from the current Lite version? I use Google home, so Alexa isn't useful for me. Also already have a separate room sensor.
No need unless you want to waste money. I honestly think this is too much considering they all are nearly the same product (competitors) all tho I try to stay away from google as best I can

I definitely prefer ecobee tho (have og unit) because the sensors, give you much more flexibility in setting thermostat based on where you're at in your house (especially if you have multiple floors)

Reach out to your utility to deal with the eco+, this is not an ecobee issue this is your utilities issue

Will never buy another Ecobee since they forced eco+, losing the ability to independently set auto detect home/away and opting you in to auto shutoff by your utility company. Can't use the app without enabling stupid eco+, which was not a feature originally sold with the thermostat 5 years ago.
Not sure if it is location/and or perhaps service provider dependent. I do have an option to turn off eco+ anytime I want.

not really worth upgrading from an older Ecobee unless you get utility rebates that make it almost free. Went from a 3 to the Premium and, other than the looks, not much else. The Air Quality sensor is garbage and it seems that its relative to how it was originally calibrated in your house, so mine is showing "poor" air quality 90% of the time even though all my other monitors and air purifiers show good AQI

You can shut it off later, but 1) it opts you in to utility company control which is tricky to get back out of and 2) it moves and ties together existing controls like smart home/away that you have to figure out how to configure again differently under eco+.

When I turned eco+ off for a week, it return to all of my original setting. Not sure about your utility company but I get $50 Amazon each year for the opt in. When it's too hot in the summer and utility company take over, I just disable it and turn the AC back on.

Aaah bummer, I would have got an extra sensor if the new ones came with it.

I would like radon detection. Maybe that's not possible to put in something like this.
That would be a nice feature, but only if the thermostat is located on the lowest floor of your house (due to radon being heavier than air)

New Jersey Nat Gas always have deals on EcoBee and Nest. Currently they're selling these for $149 for customers.

you can get the cheapest Nest thermostat for free.
If you buy from Amazon you do have the option to submit for a rebate through your utility. Not sure of NJ but MA has $100 rebate.

I bought 7 of these at release. My utility companies never have incentives. But at least these Premiums are way better looking than the previous gens. Air quality sensor is cool too.
