F0.95 for when you want your eyes in focus but your nose and ears blurry bokeh blobs.
Which is virtually impossible with manual focus on a moving subject. Especially with a modern digital camera that doesn't have the viewfinder focusing ring.

I'll stick with my Canon 50 1.2 AF.
It's actually the opposite way around. The DOF is so shallow, you can only focus an f0.95 lens manually. AF won't work. That's why there are no f0.95 AF lenses.
I own two cheap 50mm f0.95 lenses: the Brightin Star 50mm f0.95 and the TTArtisan 50mm f0.95. I use them on FF. They are a lot of fun. However, the difference between f1.4 (I have dozen of those off eBay for $30-50 each) is not as big as one would think.
So yes, that Canon EF 50m f1.2 is a beautiful piece of glass. And it has AF. Absolutely no need to go to f0.95. Unless you find one on sale. I bought both my f0.95 lenses on sale, way below MSRP.

How is focusing on a moving human's eye easier with manual focus on a digital camera? I'm not understanding. Unless you're saying it'll be 'hunting' the entire time and never find true focus (even more difficult for manual focus though).

Btw... They do make a canon EF 50mm f1 lens.
Only the most recent cameras with reliable eye autofocus can nail focus with a super shallow dof. Prior cameras are generally good at identifying the subject to focus on but not good at identifying what part of the subject to focus on. With most lenses and distances that doesn't matter. With a 0.95 at a meter away it does! Try using those AF adapters on a 0.95. With all but the most recent cameras you'll often miss focus wide open on a still subject. It will find something to focus on but it will often be the nose or shoulder or something just a bit off. At the shallowest DOF if the eyes aren't the sharpest part of the image the photo will not look pleasing

That's why you choose the AF lock on a single (top) dot and not rely on the full dot matrix for subject-hunting. Way easier than manually focusing. Plus... how do you even see exact eye focus in your subject manually? I guess you have perfect vision? I can barely see their pupil through an EVF... let alone dof. 😅

You tell your subject to stand still. There are also people shooting pictures of other subjects than humans.

Its not. This is not a usefull lens for a crop sensor. Focussing on a FF is hard enough. Focus Peaking really helps. I have good eyes and manual 1.4 and below are really hard to get the eyes sharp. You will have lots of misses. Any movement at all kills that 1/4 of an inch DOF. Im using a Zeiss which is way better quality then this and its hard. I do Studio and on location. On a Dslr its difficult outside but in a Studio its impossible unless natural lights or modeling lights are very bright. On my mirror its much easier in darkish conditions. From F to F 1.4 is not that big of a difference. There are easier and better ways then this.

You do have to have good vision but many cameras have focus peaking which lights up in a color what is in foocus. This lens is for landscapes. Portrait would be nextto useless
