Another wrinkle is some airlines pass along fuel surcharges from partner bookings, and others don't.
For example if you booked Lufthansa first class with points, you'd get hit with an insane fuel charge from the airline (like north of $1500)... but if you book the same flight on the same airline- but through united as a partner award, you pay $0 fuel charge... (but the point cost might be higher)
Other airlines are even weirder- for example Air Canada has fuel surcharges on their own flights, but not SOME (but not all) partner airlines... likewise American only passes on surcharges from BA and Iberia but not anyone else- and they pass the full BA one along, but only part of the Iberia one.
This is part of why it's sometimes tricky to find which airline to book a flight with via points-- both the $ of points and the fees, can be quite different-- even for booking the same flight-- depending on which airline you book it though (and if it's a direct or partner booking).

Since the 14th of this month. Haven't received the card so was thinking to do a balance Transfer if I have to pay before the card comes in.
You'll probably get it early next week.
I think that's how long it took to get the debit card for my checking account.
I would be curious whether they start your statement cycle on the 14th or when you activate.
Losing 14 days out of 90 is not trivial.
