Yes, apply as a sole proprietor with your social security number instead of an EIN and your business name the exact same as your own legal name. Zero employees. Business income can be listed as little as $1,000 (resale, babysitting whatever it is you do)
Most Ink card require a recon call or get a pop-up saying you will hear about a decision later. About 90% of people get that. Also, most get a low limit ($3-4K)
Remember the $900 comes back as points, not cash (but can be converted to cash).
Got this card mid October for the regular $750/7500 promotion. Called in today to see if I could get the $900/6000 promotion and they did it no problem, just have to have reached the 6000 threshold when calling. In case anyone is in the same situation as I was 👍🏻
No, they most certainly don't, and no, it's not income
I've got 7 figures of Chase UR points and 0 1099s.
It's not income.
The IRS agrees it's not income.
If you have to spend anything to get it, it's a REBATE, not income. Not taxable, No 1099.
Here's a bunch of sources all telling you you're wrong
The only time you get a 1099 from Chase (or any bank) for CREDIT CARD BONUSES is if it's a non spending bonus
Like a referral.
And ONLY if those add up to more than $600 in a year.
NOT for signup bonuses which require spend. Which, again, are not taxable and no 1099 is issued
Also taxable would be things like offering you $ or points for opening a checking or savings account--- because you don't need to SPEND anything. So if that added up to more than $600 you'd get a 1099.
But credit card spend required signups? Not income. No 1099.

My online application was instantly declined. Called reconsideration line, talked about my business - they only asked me to send a photo of my SSN. It's been 1 week and status is still Pending when I call the line. When will I know the decision ?
Just got approved, repped! Was approved for a Chase Marriott card 30 days ago too. Would recommend waiting a minimum of a month, ideally at least 90 days if you can. Regarding how long the promotion will run, I'm not sure.
You can transfer UR (which is what this, and most other first party chase cards, actually use as their reward currency). UR can be used as cash back though it's one of the less valuable uses for it.
Chase doesn't care what you use the card for- they have to say that because business cards don't' have the same consumer protections as personal cards.
Thanks for your input but clarify I can transfer the cash back to chase pts as long as I gave chase sapphire card? So does that mean I need to call bank and ask to merge account together?

Once you have your personal accounts added to your business login you can freely transfer UR between all the UR cards you hold online.

What exactly did you say? Having trouble getting the Cashback. Thanks!!
few questions. i have no business, just an individual. i am assuming i have to do this as sole proprietor. its asking about business establishment date, revenue, business category, spend per month etc. what are you guys putting for all these questions.
any ideas on how to churn the $6k?
Dont have any such large purchases coming up in the near future, so just trying to figure out what would be the best way to spend the money without really spending it lol
Paypal is one way, but it comes at a $217 cost to do so, which would essentially eat out of the $900 cash back that you'd get from this card, which in turn make is a worser deal that it actually is...
Any ideas?
I can probably do 1500 a month with normal purchases. $1500 in gift cards to a grocery store?
You have to ask your bank to remove your escrow account so you can taxes and other expenses directly. Your bank will then guide you on their requirements - if they even allow it.
It's a pain but doable. Use your CC to pay the property tax bill directly to your county (additional % fee for using CC). Then after your lender automatically pays as part of the escrow, you have to call the lender and say you accidentally paid on your own, please send me a reimbursement. It takes a few weeks but Wells Fargo did it for me last year. Removing PT from an escrow can be more difficult - this is easier.

I paid mine with Amex to get an Amex sign up bonus. It was worth the extra fee to me.
