Yes, apply as a sole proprietor with your social security number instead of an EIN and your business name the exact same as your own legal name. Zero employees. Business income can be listed as little as $1,000 (resale, babysitting whatever it is you do)
Most Ink card require a recon call or get a pop-up saying you will hear about a decision later. About 90% of people get that. Also, most get a low limit ($3-4K)
Remember the $900 comes back as points, not cash (but can be converted to cash).
Got this card mid October for the regular $750/7500 promotion. Called in today to see if I could get the $900/6000 promotion and they did it no problem, just have to have reached the 6000 threshold when calling. In case anyone is in the same situation as I was 👍🏻
No, they most certainly don't, and no, it's not income
I've got 7 figures of Chase UR points and 0 1099s.
It's not income.
The IRS agrees it's not income.
If you have to spend anything to get it, it's a REBATE, not income. Not taxable, No 1099.
Here's a bunch of sources all telling you you're wrong
The only time you get a 1099 from Chase (or any bank) for CREDIT CARD BONUSES is if it's a non spending bonus
Like a referral.
And ONLY if those add up to more than $600 in a year.
NOT for signup bonuses which require spend. Which, again, are not taxable and no 1099 is issued
Also taxable would be things like offering you $ or points for opening a checking or savings account--- because you don't need to SPEND anything. So if that added up to more than $600 you'd get a 1099.
But credit card spend required signups? Not income. No 1099.

Got instantly approved but for only a $3500 credit line which is kind of annoying and probably because I said I only make $1000 per year in revenue with this business? Any suggestions to increase the credit limit to at least a fraction of the bonus amount ? I can probably hit the $6k in one month.
Btw theres a referral deal where the referrer gets 40k, but you get 75k.
If you have a family or friend who you trust you can net up to 115k. I just got referral from my parents and they will give me the $40k. Got approved instantly with a "sole proprietorship"

Yea you should have def put more revenue. I got like 15k credit which is what I normally get for a premium credit card.
any ideas on how to churn the $6k?
Dont have any such large purchases coming up in the near future, so just trying to figure out what would be the best way to spend the money without really spending it lol
Paypal is one way, but it comes at a $217 cost to do so, which would essentially eat out of the $900 cash back that you'd get from this card, which in turn make is a worser deal that it actually is...
Any ideas?

Sorry, cross posting this from the Unlimited thread...
I just received the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card today. Thinking of applying for one for my wife. Opinions on getting a 2nd Unlimited, vs. applying for the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card from this thread? I guess it might be good to have 1 of each...

If you can meet the minimum spend then applying for this one is a no-brainer. It still has the elevated 90k ($900) bonus and it doesn't count towards your 5/24 after approval.

Thank you! I'm sure this is mentioned in the thread already, but... Is there any advantage to trying to use a referral (from myself) when I open my wife's card? Will it stack with the 90k/$900 bonus?

The referral bonus just went up and is 40k points for the referrer but the bonus for the referee would only be 75k for the new card. The 90k offer is good for someone who is not referring a family member. You'd still come out ahead with the new referral offer since you're in two-player mode. You'll obviously get 90k for the unlimited you just opened. If you refer your wife for the ink card, she'd get 75k points for the cash card (contingent on meeting the spend bonus for the card) and you'd get a 40k referral bonus.

Thanks for the info. I created the referral link and applied for the ink business cash card in my wife's name. Got the 7-10 day deferral. No use in trying to apply for the unlimited card in her name, right? Just wait for the decision on this one?

Well, just got an email saying she was approved. Hopefully the referral/points work out.
Applied online and completely forgot I had my experian file frozen. Placed a temporary thaw on experian and called chase back to get the application approved with 1-2 days card delivery. Got $15K credit line. If anyone runs into the same issue, do not resubmit your application, just call Chase after you unfreeze your report.
How do you freeze credit with all 3 agency and how do you thaw before a new application. TIA
I just cancelled my Chase Ink Cash card last week. It's been about 6 years since I got the bonus on the card. Since I just cancelled it last week am I good to re-apply for the same card or do I have to wait a certain amount of time?

I would apply about three months after canceling the same card so there was no trace left for that card that you are reapplying.
